Terms of Service

Effective 14 September 2026

Draft notice: these terms were drafted with AI assistance to accurately reflect how DeLegacy actually works, and are a starting point rather than a finished legal document. They have not been reviewed by a lawyer — the details below (operating as an individual, Dubai/UAE governing law, and so on) reflect the owner's own stated decisions as of the effective date above, not legal advice. The whole document should still be reviewed for enforceability under applicable law before it is relied on as binding, especially once the business incorporates.

1. Acceptance

By signing in to DeLegacy, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the service — contact your household admin if you need your account removed.

2. What the service is

DeLegacy is a private record-keeping tool for a single household's family office information — real estate, bank accounts, investments, vehicles, insurance, important dates, medical records, education certificates, travel and identity documents, a document vault, memories, and liabilities. It helps you organize this information, share it selectively within your household, and get reminders about renewals and expiries.

DeLegacy is not a financial advisor, lawyer, accountant, tax advisor, insurance broker, or medical provider, and nothing in the service constitutes financial, legal, tax, insurance, or medical advice. It is a place to record decisions you've made or information you've received elsewhere — not a source of recommendations. For any of those, consult a licensed professional.

3. Accounts and eligibility

Within a household, DeLegacy is invite-only. A household administrator invites each member by email; accepting an invite means you agree to these terms. You must be an adult capable of entering a binding agreement in your jurisdiction to hold an account.

A new household's first account is created differently: you may request access via our public request-access form. Submitting that form does not create an account or any binding agreement by itself — it's a request. We review each one personally and, if we approve it, set up your household and invite you as its first member, at which point the rest of this section applies to you the same as anyone else.

You're responsible for keeping your password and two-factor authenticator secure, and for anything that happens under your account as a result of failing to do so. Two-factor authentication is mandatory for every account, without exception.

4. The household admin role

One or more members of your household hold the "admin" role, which carries additional authority over the shared household account: inviting and removing members, permanently deleting records (as opposed to the recoverable soft-delete available to every member), and, for record types other than medical records, emergency "break-glass" access to another member's records — logged in the audit trail every time it's used. If you're not sure who holds this role in your household, ask.

5. Your responsibilities

You agree to enter accurate information (to the best of your knowledge), to use the service only for your own household's legitimate record-keeping, and not to attempt to access another household's data, circumvent the service's access controls, or use the service for anything unlawful.

6. Your data

You own the data you enter into DeLegacy. We don't claim any ownership over it, and we don't use it for anything beyond providing the service to you (see our Privacy Policy for the full detail). You can export everything you have access to at any time from Settings → Privacy.

7. Service availability

We aim to keep DeLegacy available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access, and the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practical.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DeLegacy and Raviraj Shetty are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data, loss of access, or decisions made based on information stored in it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, liability for our own gross negligence or willful misconduct, where local law prohibits limiting it).

9. Termination

A household admin may remove a member's access at any time. You may ask your household admin to remove your own account and request deletion of your data (see our Privacy Policy, §9). We may suspend or terminate access for a violation of these terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates (specifically, the Emirate of Dubai), without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

11. Changes to these terms

If we make a material change, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify household admins directly. Continuing to use DeLegacyafter a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
